I’ve always been a big fan of Lord Whitney’s work but i feel starting extended practice that now is a good time to revisit. I feel that in any of the visual merchandising briefs that i am able to take on i would like to be able to take inspiration from their work. They use lots of colour which is so important in display design- the work they produce is also really playful which is important. It’s fun and inviting. Some window displays can be quite corporate and not inviting- almost intimidating and i feel that on a small scale something with the aesthetic of these pieces would be much more effective.
unlike a lot of visual window displays within retail they feel like they have soul, unlike ones that appear mass produced and precious.
