After deciding on a genre of film and an era to base it on, we began thinking up ideas to base the action around. We decided that it would be good to create a Charlie Chaplin style slapstick comedy, these were very common in the 20s, and therefore began thinking of ideas in which humorous events could take place. Like Harold Lloyds Safety Last, we wanted a character to have a run of bad luck, this could easily relate back to the moral of the fable we were basing the film on.
